Sherwood Apartments Will Help You Go Green at Home

According to a report by The New Climate Economy , we could save $26 trillion by 2030 if we start living sustainably. So not only does the choice to go green benefit our planet for future generations, but it can also help us save valuable money and resources. The choice to live sustainably involves all of us.

For our part here at Sherwood Apartments, we want to do all we can to go green and promote sustainable living within our community. From preserving water to reducing unnecessary waste, we have made several changes that prioritize a more sustainable lifestyle. Here are three ways we live green at Sherwood Apartments.

We Preserve Water

Since Bellflower is prone to droughts, we do all we can to preserve water. Our property has drought-tolerant landscaping, which means we use plants, such as succulents, that don’t require much water. We have also installed a drip irrigation system and replaced some grass and mulch areas with beautiful stone. This allows us to save so much water that would have been used on landscaping.

We also save gallons of water through our plumbing system. Most toilets use about 3.5 gallons of water every time they flush. However, with our low-flow toilets , we use about 20 percent less water than regular toilets. This makes a big difference in our water consumption— each toilet can save up to 13,000 gallons of water per year!

We Are Paperless

At Sherwood Apartments, we go completely paperless. We do everything—rent payments, service requests, applications, and notices—online. On top of being convenient for our residents, this also eliminates the need for unnecessary paper waste.

In our community, we strive to provide quality services to help make your life as a resident a little easier. Visit our new resident portal to pay your rent online, enter a maintenance service request, browse our calendar for upcoming activities, and much more!

We also have a water bottle refill station on the property. If each of us uses a reusable water bottle, we can work together to significantly reduce the waste from plastic water bottles. Let’s all make an effort to go green together.

We Recycle

Recycling is one of the best lifestyle changes we can make to go green.  For our part, we have recycling bins in our office and encourage all residents to recycle as well. Items you can recycle include paper, plastic bottles and containers, empty cans, and flattened cardboard. However, you cannot recycle plastic bags, food, liquid, plastic wrap, or cups with wax or plastic coating.

Here in Bellflower, you can take your recycling to Bellflower Recycling Center . This small change in habit can make a big difference for our planet, so thank you for doing your part!

We’re Excited to Announce Organic Waste Recycling!

Organic waste recycling will be coming soon to our local community, and we can’t wait to participate! This initiative will help keep millions of pounds of food waste out of landfills and turn them into compost and renewable natural gas. We’ll keep you up to date as this program expands throughout the state.

We want to do everything we can to take care of the environment and live green. If you are looking for an apartment complex that cares as much about the planet as you do, Sherwood Apartments could be the perfect new home for you.
